Woke at 6.30am, did the normal, coffee machine on, face wash and very important revitalizing cream, always feel more human then, hair, dress and drink coffee, out the door. Form of transport this morning bike and thank god I have one, as its far to the stables.
My boys were all happy to see me or rather their breakfast.
8am breakfast for me with steffi and Kirstin, another medium bike ride to get there, by all this exercise I was starving and in need of more coffee.
Took Connie out for a little longe, he was quiet and relaxed, which can be just the calm before the storm by him. Little was I to know this was setting the mood for the day. Because all though Connie remanined really well behaved and good, the weather didn't.....
Plotty and Cop were handwalking with grazing, which with both of them involves taking me for a walk, plot because he's really always in control and moppy because he's hungry, food let's go!!!
Copin is the horse with many names... Normally they all have a nick name, but Copin is so popular with everyone at home, he got a few; Moppy is my favorite and normal stable name for him, mainly as he has an awful lot of hair!!! Coco was Nadia's name for a while, Cop was just shorter and Celia said for a big, strong guy like him, you can't call him Moppy but Thunder.
Cornardo is Connie until we found out his previous riders wife called him George, as in Clooney, pretty dam fitting I have to say.
Marcus arrived just in time for lunch to ride, but my team members brought me some sandwiches back,so I didn't waste away, thank you. Riders and Otto were very impressed with our or mainly Terri's decorating.
At this point in the day I should have realized that everything was going very smoothly, everyone was in good moods, I was on top of all the work etc defiantly to good to last....
Connie jumped amazing and also because he stayed relaxed about jumping. He's biggest problem is he's to good at jumping, we are trying to teach him a little less is also good enough. He's also a big show off and loves to jump. I love watching this horse and have to boost a little bit about him to friends always, he's just so special!!!
Plot was awesome, that's all I have to say, I had the biggest smile on my face today, because he's still getting better each show, which means he didn't peck yet. So we are bang on towards our olympic goal. Big smiley.
Then the storm hit literally....water fell from the sky, at 2 minutes to 8 just before Copin's class. We were soaked through getting to the indoor, but then luckily could stay out of the weather there. The stewards very rightly keep us all there for a while as it was to dangerous for us to walk through the forest back to the stables. At 9 it was basically over, so those that wanted to train for the Nations Cup tomorrow, could enter in the ring. We rode on the warm up and jumped Cop a bit, we were happy enough with him there so went back to the stables.
I lost the plot a bit when we got back because everything is under water, Plot and Cop's boxes were/are swimming in water. The guys left back at the stables had done a pretty awesome job of digging trenches behind the boxes and starting to put shavings down everywhere.. It was a mess.
So no dinner then, was also a little pissed because I was starving and now had at least 2hrs more work than planned, nobody's fault, but Mr. Weather. Of course the only one to be grumpy with is Marcus, so he got the bad end of my moaning, never mind he knows just to say thanks and walk away!!!! All the team really mucked in and helped each other out, Terri got the music going and we had a few goes at a dodge dance routine, smiling always helps get everything moving along faster...
One good thing we will all sleep very well tonight.
Best wishes
Kay
