Sylve Söderstrand is going to be the new captain for Sweden´s showjumping-team. Söderstrand has up until recently lead the Norwegian team, but the collaboration runs out at the end of the year.
The Swede has had success with the Swedish team in the past; between 1999-2004 – with Henk Nooren as the team’s coach – he took Sweden to silver medals in the European Championships, World Championships and even in the Olympics. Söderstrand also played an important part when Norway qualified for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Hopefully, Söderstrand – together with the coach Hans Horn - will manage to bring the Swedish team back up in the Super League next year. The team was one of four that was relegated to the Promotional League this summer, even though the made a strong bid to stay in the top league with their victory in Falsterbo.
