This weekend the CSI5* show in Brussels gathered almost all the top riders in Europe. The 1.50 class on Friday started off well for the home crowd with Rik Hemeryck and Quarco de Kerambars taking the first place. The Irish rider Billy Twomey is continuing his good riding, and ended up second with the stallion Je t’aime Flamenco.
In the speed class Friday the World Champion Philippe Le Jeune gave the home crowd a new victory with the gelding Leo du Prairial. Le Jeune was followed by the two French riders Philippe Rozier and Roger Yves Bost.
The Belgian riders got in at top three in the speed class at Saturday as well. Dirk Demeersmann got a third place followed by Alvaro De Miranda Neto and Eric Lamaze.
In the 1.55 class Saturday evening Laura Kraut and her fantastic grey gelding Cedric had a double clear, end the best time of all. Peter Charles from England got the second place with Murka’s Rubert R and Mc Lain Ward/Antares ended up third.
Rick Hemeryck rode another great round ending up fifth and Christian Ahlmann/Taloubet Z once again showed what a great team they are- although one fence down in the jump-off “only” gave them a seventh place.
Todays Grand Prix had 49 starters and 10 riders to the jump-off. The victory went to Gerco Schröder and Eurocommerce New Orleans who won an Audi A5, with Simon Delestre and Lars Nieberg at second and third place. Laura Kraut and Cedric had by far the best time today - but with four faults they ended up fourth. Christian Ahlmann and Taloubet Z had the second best time, but again they had to see one fence down and ended up fifth.
